This is a scene from a short film I wrote, directed and edited in 2013 called 'A Wilted Rose'. Below it are the storyboard sketches I made in order to prepare for the shoot.

I wrote the entire fifteen minute film based on a painting I saw of Romeo and Juliet, and recreated the painting in this scene. I planned each shot carefully thinking about the flow and pacing of the scene. Also thinking about how to make information clear to the audience. Such as, where the characters are located within the space and in relation to each other as they move.

The film has a floral theme which is why flowers can be seen throughout the scene. It takes place in the 1950's so I wanted a melodramatic feeling and look to it. I chose to have harsh shadows across the background which can also represent the characters inner emotions.

Below is a short film I shot on my iPhone of my friend's band 'In Angles'. I have a love for classical music and put a Richard Wagner prelude against the slow moving image.
